I am trying to google foreclosure homes in my area of Evansville, IN and every site that I come to wants me to become a member and pay to view the information. I know there has to be an easier way to search for these properties. Any ideas?

check the local paper that prints the legal notices. Every legal notice for forclosure has to be public printed. At lease in Illinois. I got three duplexes that way, when the owner moved out of state. I went thru the bank. Never try to do it in person as you will always remember what a jerk it takes to remove someone from their home.

Do you just want the information, or do you want to buy a home? If you want to buy one, get a Realtor. You can’t bid on the HUD houses yourself, and if you call on the sign in the yard then you get no representation.

I have gone to the county courthouse and went to the tax office and the sheriff’s office. Both had paper listings for me to look at. I had to take a pen and paper to write it all down. Also on this site about foreclosure (http://www.invest-foreclosure.com/foreclosurelistings.html) I found lots of other useful and helpful info. But the courthouse is the first place to go.
